1.2 million tickets for this year's mid-autumn celebration sold in advance... Purchase rate 59.1% (Korea)

On the 22nd, Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced that the pre-sale rate for Chuseok (mid-autumn celebration) train tickets, which went on sale on the 19th, was 59.1%.
This is higher than the previous sales rate of 50.2%. According to the Korea Railroad Corporation, 1.196 million of the 2.03 million available seats were sold during this advance sales period.
The advance sales rate by major route was 71.7% for the Jeolla route, 65.6% for the Honam route, and 63.4% for the Gyeonggi route.

The day with the most people returning home is September 13th, the day before the long weekend.
The average reservation rate for the northbound lanes on September 18, the last day of the holiday, was calculated to be 90.7%. Advance tickets for priority travellers were also sold out, up 35,000 seats from last year's mid-autumn celebration (76,000 seats).
It was understood that there were 12,000 seats. Tickets reserved during the nationwide pre-sale period of August 21-22 must be paid for by midnight on the 25th. Tickets purchased during the pre-sale period for transportation priority holders on August 19-20 must be paid for by midnight on the 25th.
The payment period for tickets purchased is until midnight on the 28th. Tickets that are not paid for within the period will be automatically canceled and assigned to people on the waiting list for canceled reservations.
Any remaining seats will be available for purchase from 3 p.m. on that day on the Korea Railroad Corporation website, the mobile app "KORAIL Talk," station counters, and vending machines.
