Han Dong-hoon, representative of People's Power, said, ”Public opinion has completely reversed on financial investment income tax” (Korea)
Han Dong-hoon, leader of the ruling People's Power Party, said on the 23rd, "As the implementation date approaches, public opinion is growing that the financial investment income tax should not be implemented."
He called on the Democratic Party to cooperate in abolishing the financial investment tax. Han said on his Facebook page that afternoon, "Public opinion on the financial investment tax for ordinary citizens has also completely reversed."
Han said, "The results of a public opinion poll conducted today among the general public showed that 57.4% of people support abolishing or postponing the implementation of the gold tax. 34% support abolishing it, 23.4% support postponing it, and 10.4% support introducing it.
Han said, "Nearly 70% of respondents with investment experience were against the introduction of a gold investment tax. In a survey conducted by another organization in July, 23.9% were in favor of abolishing the tax, 19.3% were in favor of a grace period, and 27.3% were in favor of introducing the tax.
"In April, a survey by another organization showed that 38% were against the gold tax and 44% were in favor.
Those who have a strong interest in the gold market and those with investment experience are even more vocal in their calls for the abolition of the gold investment tax." Han said, "I hope that the Democratic Party of Korea will also listen to the voices of those on the ground from now on.
You can't judge common sense and public opinion with the old 1:99 divide frame. If 99 percent are against it, will it lead to division?" he added.
Realmeter conducted a survey of 1,001 men and women aged 18 or older nationwide on the 21st and 22nd at the request of the Korea Stock Investors Association.
The survey revealed that 34.0% of respondents said that the gold tax should be abolished, while 23.4% said that it should be postponed.
Approximately six in 10 people are opposed to the implementation of the gold tax next year. 27.3% of respondents said that the tax should be implemented as scheduled, while 37.6% said that it should be implemented as scheduled.
The survey had a response rate of 15.3%.
