South Korean Presidential Cyber Special Advisor emphasizes the seriousness of DeepFei's illegal videos: ”A special law on sexual violence should be enacted as soon as possible”

Lim Jeong-in, special presidential cyber advisor in South Korea, stressed that a special law on sexual violence must be enacted immediately in relation to the illegal videos of artificial intelligence (AI) DeepFei.
On the 28th, Special Assistant Lim Jeong-in said in a phone interview, "The issue of illegal DeepFei videos has become a serious problem, especially in Korean society."
He continued, "When someone commits a sexual crime using DeepFei, there should be provisions in the law that give him heavier punishment and confiscate all economic benefits. Then YouTube and DeepFei will be able to use their services to

A clause has been added to Article 82 of the relevant law, providing for punishment for the production, editing, distribution, screening or posting of virtual sounds, images or videos created using AI or other technologies for the purpose of election campaigning.
Special Assistant Lim explained, "There was a lot of controversy when the law was revised, but we added the clause taking into consideration the urgency of this matter."
He also mentioned the importance of international cooperation.
"Open source AI is not easy to control. Anyone can use AI that can easily create illegal videos on the dark web, etc., as long as they pay the money."
"Yes, it is possible. Legal distribution networks can be controlled if there is a social consensus, but illegal distribution networks require international cooperation."
If the UN Cybercrime Convention passes the plenary session in October, international cooperation will become even easier.
Regarding the illegal production of videos by minors under the age of DeepFei, Special Assistant Lim said he would cooperate with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science, ICT and Technology, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to investigate AI ethics.
