China's National Immigration Administration reports 110 million people entering and leaving China this summer

On the 3rd, China's National Immigration Administration announced that 110 million (total number, same below) Chinese and foreigners entered and left the country through border checkpoints across the country during the summer (July to August) this year.
The average number of people entering and leaving the country per day was 1,779,000, up 30.0% from the same period last year and 13.0% from May to June. The highest number of people entering and leaving the country was on August 24th.
Of these, mainland Chinese residents increased 28.1% year-on-year to 55.381 million, while Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan residents increased 27.6% year-on-year to 44.032 million.
The number of foreigners entering and leaving China increased by 52.8% to 10.89 million people. Of these, 1.957 million foreigners entered China using visa exemptions, up 117% from the same period last year.
Additionally, at border checkpoints nationwide, a total of 5.64 million vehicles, including ships, trains, and cars, used for entry and exit were inspected, up 32.0% year-on-year.
