経済が大変?…秋夕に「海外旅行」行く人が増加=韓国
Is the economy in trouble? … More people going ”overseas” to celebrate mid-autumn = Korea
A survey has revealed that one in nine South Koreans are planning to travel abroad during the mid-autumn celebration (Chuseok) holiday period.
The Incheon International Airport Corporation announced on the 11th that
According to the "Mid-Autumn Celebration Holiday Overseas Travel Intentions Survey," 11.2% of respondents said they "have plans to travel overseas during the holiday period."
This is the highest figure since the survey began in 2020. The intention to travel abroad has increased from 1.9% in 2020 to 2.0% in 2021, 3.2% in 2022, and 4.7% in 2023.
This figure continues to increase and is up from 9.3% last year. However, it should be noted that overseas travel has been curbed due to the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
The most popular travel destination was Japan (31.1%), followed by Vietnam (18.0%).
The reasons for its popularity were "close flight distance," "low exchange rate," and "good value for money." Incheon International Airport Corporation is implementing special traffic measures for the mid-autumn celebration holiday period (September 13-18)
It is estimated that an average of 201,000 people will use Incheon Airport each day.
