According to the Seoul Energy Corporation, the accident caused extremely hot water to gush out into the community, damaging the area around Mok-dong, Yangcheon-gu (excluding the 1st and 6th Complex), Sinjeong-dong, Gocheok-gu, Guro-gu, and the surrounding area.
Hot water and heating supplies were cut off to 58,682 households in the Cheok-dong area. No casualties were reported. The Seoul Energy Corporation is currently closing valves to stop the flow of hot water in heat transport pipes.
