China's fixed asset investment up 3.4% in Jan-Aug from a year earlier: Chinese report

According to data recently released by the National Bureau of Statistics of China, national fixed asset investment (excluding farms) in the first eight months of this year increased 3.4% year-on-year to 32.9385 trillion yen (about 653 trillion yen).
If real estate development investment is excluded, the increase is 7.7%. By sector, basic capital investment increased by 4.4% and manufacturing investment increased by 9.1%. Real estate development investment increased by 10.2%,
By industry, primary industry investment increased by 2.9%, secondary industry investment increased by 12.1%, and tertiary industry investment decreased by 0.8%.
Private investment fell 0.2%, but increased 6.3% if real estate development investment is excluded.
Investment in high-tech industries also increased by 10.4%, with high-tech manufacturing up 9.6% and high-tech services up 11.7%.
Meanwhile, investment in fixed assets (excluding farms) in August decreased by 0.16% from the previous month.
