Episode 18 of "The Beginning" shows the discovery of evidence of Gao Qiqiang's crime.
When the police were preparing to crack down on Gao Qiqiang, they discovered that Gao Qiqiang had booked an airline ticket.
An Xin and his team decided to arrest Gao Qiqiang, assuming that Gao was about to leave Jinghai. An Xin interrogated Gao Qiqiang, but Gao Qiqiang said that he had not given any information about the related incident.
One by one, they denied each allegation. Then, the detective team discovered a recording of Gao Qiqiang instructing Gao Xiaochen to lie about the abduction incident.
The murder weapon believed to have been used in the murder was found in the house. Li Xiang tries to force Gao Qiqiang to confess about the incident, but is stopped by An Xin.
The criminal investigation team held a meeting and An Xin was once again appointed as the head of the special investigation team. An Xin also confirmed that Li Youtian and her son were suspects in the case.
