5.256 million people crossed borders during mid-autumn festival - Chinese media

According to the China National Immigration Administration, during this year's mid-autumn festival holiday period (September 15-17), 5,256,000 Chinese and foreigners (total number, same below) entered and exited through border checkpoints across the country.
The average number of people entering and leaving the country per day was 1,752,000, an 18.6% increase over the same period last year.
Of these, mainland Chinese residents increased by 15.1% to 2.632 million, while those from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan increased by 2.2% to 2.632 million.
The number of residents increased by 7.3% to 2.07 million. The number of foreigners increased by 62.2% to 554,000. In addition, at border checkpoints nationwide, the number of people using the buses to enter and leave the country increased by 100,000.
A total of 242,000 vehicles, including ships, trains and cars, were inspected, an increase of 37.6%.
