Until now, the delay rate had not exceeded 10% until 2022, but since last year it has exceeded 20%.
This is because the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism has strengthened its standards for determining "delays" since last year.
Since last year, domestic and international flights have been considered to be "delayed" if they depart or arrive at the gate 15 minutes later than scheduled.
Prior to last year, a flight was considered "delayed" if it took more than 30 minutes from takeoff or landing on the runway for domestic flights, and more than 60 minutes for international flights.
Looking at the domestic routes by airline, Air Seoul and T'way Airlines recorded a delay rate of 34%, the two airlines with the most frequent delays.
This is followed by Jeju Air (28.4%), Jin Air (26.9%), Eastar Jet (22.6%), Korean Air (17.4%), Asiana Airlines (16.2%), and Etihad Airlines (16.2%).
In order, Apsan Airlines (10.3%) and Aero K (9.3%) were the most frequently delayed airlines. Among international routes, Eastar Jet recorded a delay rate of 37.4%, the most frequently delayed airline.

The top three airlines were: Asiana Airlines (28.7%), Asiana Airlines (26.7%), Korean Air (26%), Aero K (21.2%) and Air Busan (15.8%).
