”Life in South Korea is hard”...North Korean defector arrested for stealing bus to North Korea (South Korea)

Police arrested a man in his 30s who was struggling with life in South Korea and was trying to steal a bus and cross the Unification Bridge to return to North Korea.
On the 1st, the Gyeonggi Paju Police Station arrested and investigated a man in his 30s.
The man stole a community bus parked in a garage in Munsan-eup, Paju, at around 1 a.m. today and drove it around the city, ignoring warnings from military guards.
The man is suspected of crossing the bridge and heading north towards the north end of the city. The bus collided with a barricade and came to a halt. The man was arrested at around 1:30 a.m.
Investigations revealed that the man was able to drive the bus as the keys were kept inside.
The man is believed to be a North Korean defector who defected from the country about 10 years ago and had been living in Shinlim-dong, Seoul until recently. He was having a hard time living in South Korea and committed the crime in order to return to North Korea.
The victim was not found to have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
