日中韓が「環境大臣会合」を開催…プラスチック汚染などへの共同対応を論議
Japan, China and South Korea hold ”Environment Ministers' Meeting” to discuss joint response to plastic pollution, etc.
South Korea's Ministry of Environment announced that the 25th Tripartite Environment Ministers' Meeting among China, Japan and South Korea (TEMM25) was held in Jeju on the 28th and 29th of last month.
Established in 1999 at the suggestion of South Korea, this meeting is held annually in rotation among the three countries as a ministerial-level conference to discuss joint responses to environmental issues in the Northeast Asian region.
The conference was attended by over 200 people from the three countries, including South Korean Environment Minister Kim Wan-seop, Chinese Environment Minister Huang Runqiu, and other officials from the three countries.
"As neighboring countries, the three countries share the same environmental impacts, so close cooperation is necessary," said Environment Minister Kim. "Through this meeting, we will work together to improve the environment of the three countries, including reducing plastic pollution and climate change."
"We reviewed the progress of cooperation in various areas related to the pending issues and discussed possible solutions," he said.
