Netflix has announced its stance on the high salaries of its actors. On the afternoon of the 4th, Netflix held the "Next on Netflix" event at the Park Hyatt Busan.
Director Kim Taewoo-won, director Yeon Sang-ho of "Apocalypse," director Nam Goong-seong of "Confessions," and Byun Sung-hee of "Good News" hosted the "X: 2025 Korean Film" screening.
Director Jung Joon, "The Flood" director Kim Byung-woo, "Mantis" director Lee Tae-seong, "The Planet Needs You" director Han Jee-won, and "84 Square Meters" director Kim Tae-jun attended the event.
Previously, Lee Jung-jae, who appeared in "Squid Game Season 2," was reported to be earning 1 billion won (approximately 100 million yen) per episode.
A question was asked about the high salaries of the actors in IX. Director Kim Taewoo said, "Korean content is doing well and has been successful globally, but
"If production costs increase in the future, it will come back to haunt us like a boomerang, as a side effect or backlash," he said. He continued, "Giving actors an appropriate salary based on a reasonable budget is the best way to
