President Yoon attended the Singapore Lecture hosted by a Singapore government think tank on the same day and said, "We will provide a driving force for the creation of a liberated Korean Peninsula."
This will serve as a lever to open up a huge market that will connect the Pacific Ocean, the Korean Peninsula and the Eurasian continent," he said, adding that he would work closely with the international community for the Korean Peninsula's goal of free unification.
The Singapore Lectures are a lecture programme organised by the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies and sponsored by the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in which visiting heads of state are invited to give speeches by world-renowned speakers.
President Yoon said, "If a free and unified Korean Peninsula is realized, it will be possible to make groundbreaking progress in peace not only on the Korean Peninsula but also in the Indo-Pacific region and the international community. The North Korean nuclear threat will disappear and international non-proliferation will become a reality."
"A stronger dispersion regime will greatly revitalize efforts to build peace and trust among countries and regions in the region," he said.
