Police considering applying ”dangerous driving causing injury” charges to former President Moon's daughter for drunk driving (South Korea)
Police are considering adding a charge of dangerous driving causing injury to Moon Da-hae (41), the daughter of former President Moon Jae-in, who has been charged with drunk driving.
It was confirmed that on the 5th, Yongsan Police Station in Seoul filed charges against Da Hye for drunk driving, in addition to the charge of causing injury by dangerous driving under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.
The explanation was that if someone injures someone while drunk driving is difficult, the police would normally consider charging them with dangerous driving resulting in injury.
At around 3 a.m. on the 5th, Da-hye was driving a Hyundai Casper in a drunken state with a blood alcohol level of 0.149 percent and collided with a taxi behind him.
The taxi driver reportedly suffered minor injuries, including a stiff neck. CCTV footage from just before the accident showed Dahye staggering around intoxicated, ignoring traffic lights and turning left from the right lane.
If the additional charge of dangerous driving causing injury is applied, Dahye's sentence is expected to be heavier. Under the Act on Aggravated Punishment of Specified Crimes, dangerous driving causing injury is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.
It stipulates.
