A total of 2.03 billion people traveled across regions during China's National Day holiday - Chinese reports

According to an announcement made by the Ministry of Transport of China on the 8th, the total number of people who traveled across regions during the National Day holiday period (October 1st to 7th) reached 2.03 billion.
The average number of people traveling per day was 286,187,000, up 3.9% from the same period last year, and 23.4% from the same period in 2019 before the COVID-19 virus outbreak.
By mode of transportation, the largest number of road users was 1,846,160,000 people. The average number of users per day increased by 3.7% compared to the same period last year and 23.3% compared to the same period in 2019.
The total number of people traveling by private car reached 1,585,410,000 over the seven-day period.
In addition, the number of railroad users totaled 131,251,000, with the daily average increasing by 6.3% to 18,750,000.
The total number of passengers was 9.8 million, an increase of 10% year-on-year to a daily average of 1.4 million. The total number of passengers using civil aircraft was 16.096 million, an increase of 11.1% year-on-year to a daily average of 2.299 million.
