HBO、サトシ・ナカモトにピーター・トッドを指名…トッド「違う」と否定1
HBO names Peter Todd as Satoshi Nakamoto… Todd denies it
An HBO documentary has named Peter Todd as the true identity of Bitcoin's creator.
On the 8th, the HBO documentary "Money Electric: The Bitcoin Mystery"
Bitcoin Mystery claimed that the anonymous creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, was actually Peter Todd.
Peter Todd is a prominent Canadian developer with a background in cryptography, computer science and digital security who is currently making significant contributions to blockchain.
He is one of the founders of Bitcoin and is best known for his contributions to the development of Bitcoin Core, the main software implementation of the Bitcoin protocol.
According to reports, Todd has worked as a Bitcoin Core developer at the bitcoin platform Coinkite since July 2014 and as a developer at the digital collectibles platform Coinkite since 2015.
He currently serves as an advisor to the board of directors of the blockchain platform Verisart. His contributions to blockchain date back to the birth of Bitcoin, making him a contemporary of Nakamoto’s.
However, HBO documentary maker Cullen Hoback refers to him directly as Satoshi Nakamoto.
In December 2010, on a bitcoin forum called Bitcointalk, Todd wrote in a thread about fees:
Hoback and HBO responded to Kamoto by saying that the reply was an accidental mistake written from Peter Todd's personal account, that Todd is Satoshi, and that he has added to his previous post.
HBO seems convinced that this proves that Todd is Nakamoto, but not everyone agrees.
Research is skeptical of HBO's claims. They said in an October 8 post on Twitter that "the evidence presented in the documentary is patently absurd."
He added, "There's no reason to believe that." While it's unclear whether Todd is Nakamoto, there's no denying that he has a long history with Bitcoin.
As well as being one of InCodebase's earliest contributors, he was one of the few people to have publicly interacted with Nakamoto before his disappearance in 2011.
In a 2019 podcast, Todd revealed that when he was 15, he met early Bitcoin contributor Hal Finney.
Finney and Hashcash inventor Adam Back
Finney and Back have repeatedly mentioned Nakamoto as a possible candidate.
Todd was 23 when Nakamoto published the Bitcoin white paper in 2008, which included a vision for a decentralized P2P payment system.
Todd has proven himself to be a highly knowledgeable and skilled developer through his years of work across Bitcoin and blockchain in general, which is why he was a strong candidate for Nakamoto.
Todd has views on decentralization and security that broadly align with Nakamoto's, but which are not shared by most of the blockchain space.
There are analyses that show that this is a highly likely opinion shared by many people. Meanwhile, Todd posted a message on X (formerly Twitter) saying "I am not Satoshi" around the time the documentary aired.
He posted frankly and denied that he was Nakamoto.
