"Since I joined Kyobo Bookstore, I have never seen a book sell so quickly. We are still shipping Han Kang's books through the quick delivery service.
" On the 11th, a staff member (in his 40s) at the major Korean bookstore Kyobo Bookstore said, "In Korea, many people are flocking to buy the works of Han Kang, the first Asian woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature.
Long lines have formed in front of major bookstores in Seoul before the stores even opened in order to purchase Han Kang's works, and the online malls of large bookstores have been experiencing "phenomena" such as servers becoming paralyzed.
The Korean newspaper Herald Business visited the Kyobo Bookstore Gwanghwamun branch in Jongno-gu, Seoul, where many people gathered to purchase Han Kang's works from around 8 a.m. on the day.
Citizens were lining up in front of the store. As soon as it opened at 9:30 a.m., they headed to the special corner to see Han Jiang's works, and the stock quickly sold out.
One company employee who bought a book by Han Kang at Kyobo Bookstore said, "As soon as the store opened, I went to the section and picked up the book in front of me. I was told, 'That's the last one left.' I happened to be on a business trip, so
I just happened to be here, and I was very lucky."
