Sexual assaulter who went unarrested for seven years ”worked at a girls' high school” = South Korea
An accomplice in an unsolved sexual assault case that occurred in Incheon, South Korea in 2017 has been arrested by police seven years after the incident. He had been working at a girls' high school until just before his arrest.
According to Yonhap News on the 14th, the Bucheon Police Station in Gyeonggi Province arrested and detained a 30-something public servant in the education administration, surnamed A, on suspicion of special attempted rape.
Mr. A is suspected of sexually assaulting a female victim together with his accomplice Mr. B in a tent next to a festival venue in Incheon in September 2017.
At the time, the perpetrator of the case could not be found and it was treated as an unsolved case.
However, the truth of the case began to come to light when Mr. B committed another sexual assault in Gachon, Gyeonggi Province, and was arrested by police last year.
As a result of a DNA test, police confirmed that Mr. B's DNA matched that of the DNA recovered from the crime scene in 2017.
When questioned by the police, Mr. B initially claimed that he had sexually assaulted the victim together with a stranger, but as the police's relentless investigation continued, he eventually admitted that he had committed the crime together with Mr. A.
It was discovered that Mr. A had been working as an administrative civil servant at a girls' high school in Gyeonggi Province until just before his arrest. He admitted to all the charges.
Mr. B is currently serving a five-year sentence in prison for another sexual assault case.
A police official said, "Mr. B, who was arrested in Gwacheon last year, initially said that he had committed the crime with a stranger.
However, after learning of his relationship with Mr. A and pursuing him further, he confessed to all of this."
