A YouTuber and speech instructor who previously worked under the name Naeun-sa has attracted attention after revealing her experience of being suddenly fired by her company via message.
On the 12th of this month, the YouTube channel "Jiyun Diary," which has about 25,600 subscribers, posted a video stating, "After receiving the notice of dismissal in one line on KakaoTalk,
My life has changed completely,” she said. Jiyun began preparing for the role in 2019 and passed the sports channel exam in 2021, about three years later.
Ng said, "I listened to the training very hard and studied very hard on my own in order to make my broadcast debut. I'm the kind of person who is used to doing things with all my heart.
"This opportunity was something I had been hoping for, and it was the kind of role I wanted to play, so I felt happy every time I uttered each and every character of the lines that I had memorized so easily," he recalled.
However, while Jiyun was preparing to arrive at work, she said, "You don't have to come the day after tomorrow."
The company sent a notice of dismissal via KakaoTalk. Jiyun said, "I was preparing for the job and working, and the most difficult part was
"What I lost was not a long period of preparation or repeated rejections," he said, "but a life in which I couldn't work unless I was selected. If I hadn't been selected, all the time and effort I'd put in would have been lost."
"I lost that value," she said. Jiyun said that being fired prompted her to change her life goal: to live a life of her own choosing and taking responsibility for it, no matter what the consequences.
Jiyun is currently working as an assistant professor at the Gangbuk-gu Office in Seoul. She has also worked for a company that deals in online speech study content since last year.
Jiyun said, "My shattered dream has given me a new dream," and added, "If I can continue my original reason for wanting to work in another way, I would like to continue that kind of life."
So if I have the choice, it's a dream come true," he added.
