Han Dong-hoon, the leader of the ruling People's Power Party, said on the 17th, "Is the prosecution's explanation today something that the public can accept?" in regards to the prosecution's decision to clear Kim Gun-Hee of all charges.
Han met with reporters after attending a training session for local lawmakers of the People Power Party (ruling party) held at the National Assembly that afternoon and said, "What's most important is that I

"A personnel shake-up is absolutely necessary and urgent. Mrs. Kim must cease her foreign activities, as she promised during the presidential election."
Han said, "Regarding the various allegations (about Kim Jong Un), the opposition party has raised excessive questions.
"I believe there are some points that (Mrs. Kim's side) need to explain. However, I said that it is necessary for them to proactively explain the issue and provide a detailed explanation to the public," he added.
In response to some criticism that it is dangerous to be in too much conflict with the presidential office ahead of the exclusive meeting with President Yoon Seok-yeol, Han said, "We need to convey the public's will accurately.
"It is the important task of the party chairman to make an effort to ensure that politics reflects the will of the people. I will fulfill my task," Han said. "In the exclusive meeting, I will request personnel reform regarding Mrs. Kim."
In response to the question, "Is it appropriate to have a method of communication that can be achieved only by meeting in person?", he replied, "I don't think it's appropriate to have a list of things to talk about when we meet and then talk about them."
