Mayor of Seoul responds to Kim Jong Un's recent remarks: ”Threat to spread Seoul map... Reasons to increase nuclear potential”

In response to recent remarks by North Korean leader Kim Jong Eun, Seoul Mayor Oh Sehun said that in order to achieve peace, the country must strengthen its defense capabilities.
On the 18th, Mayor Wu posted a message on his SNS titled "Unbearable Seoul Intimidation." In the message, he said, "North Korea's Kim Jong Un has once again spread a map of Seoul and made a threatening statement."
"Their repeated threats against Seoul make me feel unbearable anger as the mayor of Seoul and as a citizen who has lived in Seoul all my life," he said.
He also said, "North Korea has repeatedly released garbage balloons, causing damage to property and fires here and there," and "A little while ago, right in front of the armistice line, Kyung-Woo
"The reason North Korea is acting so arrogantly is because they have nuclear weapons and we don't," said Mayor Wu.
"The reason we must quickly increase our nuclear potential is because of the 'symmetrical' situation," he said. "The bigger problem is the spread of 'false peace theory' within our country.
"A prime example is Lee Jae-myung's use of the sophistry that 'even a dirty peace is better than war.'"
He also emphasized that "there is no other way to achieve peace than to strengthen national defense," and that "unconditional 'peace supremacy' is nothing more than 'anti-peace.'"
Mayor Wu added, "No matter how much Kim Jong Un's threats increase, Seoul will not respond and will thoroughly maintain Seoul's defense posture by cooperating closely with the Capital Defense Command for the safety of its citizens."
