A light aircraft crashed, killing the pilot, Charles Thomas "Chuck" Coleman.
Coleman is a veteran with over 3,000 appearances at hundreds of air shows.
He was a pilot for the 2022 film "Top Gun: Maverick." At the time, Coleman was a pilot for the U.S. Navy fighter jets.
When news of Coleman's death was announced, Miles Teller, one of the actors who appeared in the movie "Top Gun," said,
"Coleman played an important role in the filming of 'Top Gun,'" he said on his social media. "We were always able to trust and rely on him. It's an untimely farewell, but we will always remember him fondly."
"Thank you for your continued support," he said. Since Coleman's plane crash, the air show has been canceled and local authorities are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
