IT giant Kakao has launched "Kanana," an AI persona (virtual character) that uses AI (artificial intelligence) to understand human emotions and the flow of conversation and communicate with people.
Kakao announced that it will provide an internal test version of the service from the end of the year. After merging with Kakao Brain, a subsidiary that specializes in AI business, Kakao plans to reorganize its AI services in the first half of 2024.
In 2018, they launched an AI service organization called "Kanana." "Kanana" means "the most beautiful AI" in Korean.
Kanana, an AI persona, is a character called "Nana" who remembers emotions, dates, conversations, etc. and speaks them.
Nana is a character who supports you in group chats, and you can also participate in group chats. In group chats, you can secretly tell Nana things and have her look up data.
If you join late, you can ask other members to summarize the conversation so far. Kana is a trial based on a PDF file shared in a study group talk, for example.
"When everyone has an AI partner who shares their conversations and memories, that AI partner can always talk to other AI partners on their behalf," the company said.
"We may one day be able to exchange information with Toner."
