South Korea's National Security Advisor holds important meeting with Danish parliamentary delegation... Delegation: ”North Korea's dispatch of troops poses serious challenge to security”
South Korea's National Security Advisor Shin Won-sik said on the 29th that he would like to discuss the matter with Michael Aastrup Jensen of the Danish parliament.
The South Korean Presidential Office announced an outline of the meeting. During the meeting, Shin and the Danish parliamentarians discussed the relationship between South Korea and Denmark.
They discussed the Comprehensive Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries and exchanged views on further developing bilateral relations as they approach the 65th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations this year.
Shin provided an update on North Korea's deployment of troops to Russia, saying, "The South Korean government calls for the immediate withdrawal of North Korean troops and an end to illegal military cooperation with Russia, and we will continue to cooperate with international organizations."
"We will work with the North Korean government and the North Korean military to implement gradual response measures," he said. Meanwhile, a Danish parliamentary delegation said, "Military cooperation between Russia and North Korea and the deployment of North Korean troops are seriously affecting the security of the Korean peninsula and Europe.
"To address this issue, we need to strengthen cooperation between South Korea and Denmark, as well as between South Korea and the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)," he said.
"Close cooperation is needed between the two countries," he said, emphasizing that "the Danish Parliament will spare no effort in providing support."
