President Yoon shared information about North Korea's dispatch of troops to Russia with Prime Minister Dort, and said, "South Korea and Canada will work together with the international community to strengthen the situation."
"We must respond in a strong and united manner," he said. The two leaders exchanged views on security and defense industry cooperation between the two countries, as well as the issue of North Korea dispatching troops to Russia.
President Yoon said, "I hope that Korean companies will participate in Canada's defense strengthening project and that we will strengthen mutually beneficial defense industry cooperation," and announced plans to hold a Defense Industry Forum in Canada in the near future.
Regarding the “Ukraine Peace Official Ministerial Conference,” he said, “South Korea will also send a government representative to support Ukraine's reconstruction.”
President Yoon also said, "The first Korean War will be held in Ottawa (the Canadian capital) on November 1st.
"I hope that the upcoming Foreign and Defense 2+2 Ministerial Meeting will serve as an opportunity to institutionalize high-level security dialogue between the two countries," said Prime Minister Dort.
The reason for holding the "2+2 Foreign and Defense Ministerial Meeting" is that cooperation and friendship between the two countries has deepened over the past two years, and the two countries have become increasingly active in the areas of security and economy in the international community.
"This means that we will play a larger role in the defense industry," he said. "I am well aware of the excellence of Korea's defense industry, and I look forward to working with Korea, a strategic partner that shares our values."
