Starbucks opens in Gimpo, South Korea, with ”North Korea view”

Starbucks is opening a store at the Aegibong Observatory in Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea, where you can see into North Korea.
Gimpo City and Starbucks Korea signed a lease agreement for the second floor of Aegibong Observatory on the 16th of this month.
Starbucks is set to open the store on the 27th of next month and plans to operate it until 2028. The size of the new store is about 136 square meters, which is smaller than other stores.
You can see North Korea from inside the restaurant. Aegibong is a mountain 154 meters above sea level located at the northern end of Gimpo City. It is 1.4 kilometers away from Gaepung County in North Korea.
From there, visitors can see North Korean villages and mountains with the naked eye. Aegibong is also home to the Peace Ecological Park, which has been open to the public since last year, attracting a record 140,000 visitors.
