The “Long Island Exploration” was held on the 28th under the auspices of the Long Island Foundation.
The aim of the program was to train students to understand the history and culture of the islands and to become "public relations ambassadors who will convey Korea's territorial sovereignty over Dokdo to the international community."
Lim Jeong-sik, the superintendent of education for North Gyeongsang Province, said, "Through this visit, we were able to learn more about native English support.
"I hope that the teachers will understand the historical importance of Dokdo and play an important role as ambassadors for the island," he said.
