During the "JAPAN A NEW START" event, he spoke to wowKorea about his favorite machines and new hobbies. Q.
First of all, please say hello to everyone watching wowKorea. Hello, wowKorea fans. I'm Seungho from MBLAQ. As a solo singer,
I'm back. I'm glad to see you. Q. I heard that it's been about a year and four months since you last came to Japan. How is it being here after such a long time? How has it been for you so far?
Yes, this is actually my first time here since I released my solo album. I've been to Japan briefly before for a show, but this time I was working on my album and new songs.
Q. Your concerts started at the end of October. What kind of performance do you plan to show your Japanese fans when you meet them for the first time in a while? What are your expectations for your fans?
What should people look forward to? It's been a long time since I last appeared as a singer, so people in Japan may not know much about me.
I'm planning to make various preparations and visit Japan in the future. Q. I heard that you like machines and often use them, but have you been assembling machines as a hobby lately?
What is the most complicated machine you have come into contact with recently? Operating machines is a hobby and a special skill that also helps me manage my mental health. I enjoy looking at and buying machines in the electronics district more than I do going shopping for clothes.
I like to build computers. Recently, I bought a new computer for work and built it from scratch. When I build something, I feel good and concentrate better, and it seems to improve my biorhythm. Q.
Besides machines, what hobbies have you recently gotten into or new activities have you started? Recently, I've gotten into golf as a new hobby. I enjoy it with nice people.
But I go so often that people tell me, "Maybe it's time to stop." So lately I've had no choice but to do it secretly (laughs). Q.
You sometimes go by the alias "Leni.M." What does that name mean?
Is there a meaning behind the name? Also, I would like to know when it is used. Seungho: I wanted to try "Leni.M" as a new challenge, but I think many people have been surprised by it.
My fans liked my real name, Seungho. In the end, I decided to use my real name again. No one called me Leni.M. (laughs) wowKorea:
Eminem... No, what does the stage name Leni.M mean? Seungho: Eminem? (laughs) "Leni" means ease and familiarity, and it means "MBLAQ".
I tried combining "M", but I ended up going back to Seungho (laughs). Q. Please tell us about Seungho's solo song "Lost Ones" that was released in March this year.
Please introduce this song. It was written while I was trying to remember and regain the things I had forgotten in my life. I wanted to make the song because the fans I lost when I stopped being a singer came back to me and I wanted to be a singer again.
This is a song that will once again deliver the music that you wanted to express as a solo artist, not as an idol. Q. You posted a photo of you working on it on Instagram with the hashtag "new song." Is this a new song?
Do you have any plans to release new songs? Please tell us a little bit about the new song release schedule! (Completely) It's a secret! Just kidding (laughs). I've been working on a song for a while now, and I'm going to have some good friends soon.
I think I can make it more enjoyable. I might be able to play dance songs instead of ballads. Q. What were you looking forward to most about coming to Japan?
Please let me know if there is anything you would like to try. Seungho: Japan is my favorite country and I often come here to visit. My aunt also lives in Japan, so I go to Japan more than Busan or Cheju Island in Korea.
I come here a lot. I also really love Japanese food. wowKorea: What is your favorite Japanese food?
Seungho: Ramen, tonkatsu, gyudon... I also like yakiniku and sushi.
I like almost everything (laughs). Q. If you have any interesting stories that happened while preparing for your Japan tour, please tell us about them.
I guess it was when a reporter called me "Eminem" during the concert. (laughs) Of course I knew it was a mistake, but it was a fun and memorable experience. Thank you.
During rehearsals, my manager prepared with me in the practice room, playing multiple roles by himself. It was fun every time.
...But the "Eminem" episode was even more memorable and unforgettable.
(laughs) Q. Finally, please tell us where you envision yourself in 10 years. Seungho: Actually, I don't really imagine myself in 10 years, I just focus on the present and tomorrow.
I'm a type of person who wants to continue to do good things and meet my fans the same way. wowKorea: You're doing a lot of activities in Japan, right?
Seungho: Yes, of course. Please invite me! I'll even act as Eminem (joking).
