In a public announcement on the day, the UK pension fund said it had decided to invest in Bitcoin after undergoing thorough education and due diligence, explaining that "this reflects a long-term investment perspective."
"This cryptocurrency investment will reduce reliance on employer contributions," said Steve Robinson, head of investment practice at Cartwright.
