Lee Jong Suk has chosen tvN's new drama ‘Seocho-dong’ as his next drama and will dive into the real life of asso (short for Associate Lawyer, an affiliated lawyer employed by a law firm) lawyers. The drama is a hilarious and passionate coming-of-age drama about ‘company employee’ asso lawyers who commute to Seocho-dong Law Town every day. It is a realistic story of ‘real’ lawyers who have stepped into the real world, written by real lawyers, and will depict the growing up years of lawyers who take on cases that happen in and around our daily lives.
Lee Jong Suk plays the role of Ahn Joo Hyun, a ninth-year lawyer who fights back with facts and is full of logic. Joo Hyun became a lawyer simply because he found logic and cases interesting. From the beginning, lawyers do not have the ‘will’ to protect the weak, embody justice and change the world. Joo Hyun is only a nine-year company employee and has worked for the same company for nine years without changing jobs a single time, so his work is of the highest level, commensurate with his high salary. He is a master of the associa-tion world, setting a new annual salary record for associa-tion but not opening his own business due to the hassle involved. For Joo Hyun, cracks begin to appear in the walls of his perfectly peaceful ‘workplace’.
The film is directed by Park Seung-woo, who has shown his unique imagination and sensitive direction in dramas such as ‘Kairos - One Minute to Change Fate’ and ‘Adamas: The Lost Diamond’. He has worked with Lee Jong Suk once in the past through ‘W - You and My World’, for which he won an acting award. The synergy between Lee Jong Suk's unique and sensitive direction and his stable acting skills is attracting a lot of interest. The script is also written by writer Lee Seung Hyun. The film is expected to develop a variety of episodes through the real-life experiences and cases closely touched upon by the fiery lawyer Aso as an active lawyer.
Lee Jong Suk returns as a lawyer. Lee Jong Suk, who created the ‘Big Mouth’ syndrome by depicting the spectacular life of a lawyer in his previous drama ‘Big Mouth’, even won the grand prize at that year's ‘MBC Acting Awards’, proving the true value of Lee Jong Suk's drama with his stable acting skills. In his acceptance speech, he said, "There was someone who helped me to think in a positive way, in a good human way. I want to tell him that I liked him very much for a long time and I respect him very much", and he expressed his love for his girlfriend IU, which became a topic of discussion.
