South Korea gives suspended sentence to man in his 30s who opened the door before the plane landed

A man in his 30s who was accused of opening the aircraft door before landing and injuring other passengers on board was given a suspended sentence.
Daegu District Court Criminal 10 Exclusive Chief Judge Heo Jeong-in said on the 8th that the plane was about to land.

On May 26th of last year, at around 12:37 p.m., Defendant A was in a 700-800km flight with 197 passengers on board.
As Asiana Airlines Flight 8124, traveling from Jeju to Daegu, was preparing to land at an altitude of 0 feet (approximately 213 to 243 meters), the emergency door locking device was arbitrarily operated, opening the entrance and exit.
As a result, he was put on trial on suspicion of causing acute anxiety and stress reactions, the number of days of which was unknown, in 15 passengers, including Mr. B (14), who was on the plane.
Chief Judge Heo said, "Many victims, including minors, have complained of psychological trauma, but no proper measures have been taken to redress the damage.
However, we took into consideration the fact that the defendant was in a weak physical and mental state when he committed the crime," he said in the sentencing decision.
