Incheon International Airport Police have arrested and are investigating a woman in her 40s on suspicion of trespassing.
The incident was revealed on the 8th. The suspect, A, jumped onto a moving conveyor belt for checked baggage at the departure gate on the third floor of Incheon Airport's second passenger terminal in Jung-gu, Incheon Metropolitan City at around 3:20 pm the previous day.
Suspect A is suspected of getting on a conveyer belt near the counter for the automated baggage check-in service, where passengers can send their luggage directly, and then getting on the conveyer belt to the basement.
The investigation revealed that the suspect A's crime was committed near the automated baggage check-in service counter, and an airline employee later discovered the situation and reported it to the Incheon Airport Baggage Operations Center.
Suspect A went down to the basement level, which is a security area, and was sitting near the conveyor belt, but was caught by special security guards from the Incheon Airport Corporation who were called in and handed over to the police.
It was reported that suspect A was not a passenger departing from the country. The police are currently investigating the details of the incident against suspect A.
A police source said, "The suspect is believed to have been a passenger who had checked in by himself and sent his luggage through the conveyor belt underground.
"I was a little confused because this was the first time this happened," he said. He continued, "Since there have been no similar cases, we considered applying the Airport Facilities Act and the Aviation Security Act, but the relevant punishment regulations are
