”We don't serve daikon kimchi to women”... Discrimination against female customers at famous Chinese restaurant becomes an issue in South Korea

A mukbang (food video) YouTuber with 200,000 subscribers visited a famous Chinese restaurant in Gunsan, but was denied the use of some of the side dishes because she was a woman.
Recently, on her YouTube channel "YunSuki, the Woman Who Drinks Alone," she posted a video of her two-day, one-night trip to Gunsan.
When Yoon Sook-hee visited Gunsan in North Jeolla Province, she thought, "If you come to Gunsan, you have to eat champon," and headed to a Chinese restaurant.
However, as she was eating the seafood champon she had ordered, she looked at the table next to her and suddenly realized that she was the only one who had not been served daikon kimchi.
She then told the camera, "The other customers got both pickled radish and daikon kimchi. I only got pickled radish."
In fact, unlike Yoon Sook-hee's table, which only had pickled radish in the video, the table had radish kimchi and pickled radish.
She muttered to herself, "They didn't give me daikon kimchi because I came alone," and asked the waiter, "Why didn't they give me daikon kimchi?"
"Is it okay?" the waiter replied, "Most women don't eat daikon kimchi. Shall I bring it out for you?"
If you want to eat it, I'll serve it to you." Yoon Sook-hee responded,
"No, I ate it all. That's enough," she said. She then said, "I ate almost everything. Now, why don't I eat daikon kimchi just because I'm a woman?
"Why are you so gender-discriminatory? If you had just asked me from the beginning, 'Do you want to eat daikon kimchi?' this wouldn't have happened. Making people sad over daikon kimchi," he said, in disbelief.
Later, when Yoon Sook-hee finished her meal and checked the bill at the counter, the staff member said, "You should have said (asked for daikon kimchi).
"Women almost never eat daikon kimchi," he emphasized again.
In the end, Yoon Sook-hee said, "Even if I say I won't eat it if it's served to me first,
"They just assumed that women wouldn't eat it and didn't serve it to them," he pointed out. The surprised staff member replied, "I'm sorry. That's why I didn't serve it to them.
"I would have said I wanted it if I needed it," Yoon Sook-hee explained.
How do I know if there is any or not? I guess they didn't put it out because I didn't say anything, but this is the first time I've felt sad because of daikon kimchi."
