The amendment to the bill on the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the stock price manipulation scandal involving Kim Jong Un was passed by a unanimous vote of 191 members of the assembly, with the People's Power (ruling party) not participating.

The amendment, which included the right to recommend candidates to the National Assembly, was submitted to the plenary session and voted on. According to the amendment, if the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court recommends four candidates to the National Assembly, the opposition bargaining group and non-bargaining group will each recommend one candidate.
