School festival held on the day before the College Scholastic Aptitude Test... Complaints flood in about noise = South Korea
A private university in Daejeon held a school festival on the 13th, the day before the College Scholastic Aptitude Test (equivalent to the Japanese common university entrance exam), which caused noise pollution on campus and caused damage to nearby residents.
According to residents on the 14th, the university held a school festival organized by the general student council on the day before the exams. The event, which took place from 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm, featured group music.
There were also performances by Do Circle, a university song festival, and a celebration performance by celebrities. Due to the noise generated by various performances on the day before the exams, parents of students taking exams and others in the local internet community complained about the noise.
Residents were inundated with reports. In the process, the police were even called in. One parent said, "It was a day when many students were trying to get in shape for the preliminary call (checking the exam venue)."
"I was angry when I heard the noise coming from the university," he said. Another parent said, "Shouldn't they be thinking about the students who have been running to take exams with only their eyes on the exam day?"
In response to this, the university said, "We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to students, parents, and residents," and "We take this incident seriously and will prevent such incidents from recurring in the future."
We will take every possible measure in managing the event to ensure this does not happen."
