Jay Clayton, former Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), has been appointed U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

The former chairman of the committee, Jay Clayton, will serve as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York. Trump also tweeted on the same day that he was abusing social media platform Truman.
Trump praised Clayton on Truth Social, saying, "He is a highly respected business leader, lawyer and public official."
"I will be a powerful fighter for truth as we make America great again," Clayton said. Clayton served as SEC Chairman from May 4, 2017 to December 23, 2020.
Clayton was Trump's deputy when Trump first became president. Trump will be inaugurated as the 47th president of the United States on January 20 next year.
He replaces Damien Williams, the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, who has filed dozens of cases against cryptocurrency criminals for allegedly committing fraud.
