The first Korea Grand Music Awards (KGMA), the Korean equivalent of the Grammy Awards, has ambitiously raised its flag.
The Golden Disc Awards, a one-of-a-kind awards ceremony that covers a wide variety of genres, has presented a new paradigm in Korean pop music.
The awards ceremony was newly established by Korea's top entertainment and sports magazine Nikkan Sports, which has been running the awards for 2017, to celebrate its 55th anniversary this year.
The KGMA, held at Paia Arena, was conducted as "Artist Day" on the first day and "Song Day" on the second day.
The highest honor went to the group "aespa" (Grand Song, Grand Actor).

TVXQ, who was chosen as the leading figure in the Korean wave, was awarded the "K-POP Legendary Artist" in recognition of their achievements thus far.
The KGMA judging panel, consisting of 14 pop music experts, focuses on diversity and authenticity, with fairness as the basic premise.
The ceremony was held on the theme of "The Birth of a Galaxy" and featured 32 awards.
All of the team's artists came together to perform a stage full of 100 songs.
