Saylor will give a three-minute presentation to the Microsoft board about investing in Bitcoin
"The activists who prepared this proposal asked me to give a three-minute presentation to the board," Saylor said in a speech on X (formerly Twitter) space hosted by cryptocurrency investment firm VanEck.
"We plan to send a presentation to the board and Satya Nadella has agreed to represent him," he said.
"I also offered to discuss this directly with CEO Nadella in private, but this was not accepted," he added.
In October, Microsoft announced that it would put a vote on whether to evaluate its Bitcoin investments at its December shareholders meeting.
The proposal was promoted by the National Center for Public Policy Research (NCPPR) and highlights the fact that MicroStrategy's stock price has risen more than 300% this year, outperforming Microsoft.
The argument is notable because it has a much smaller business than Microsoft. Saylor responded, "The proposal is a direct investment from Berkshire Hathaway.
This should be on the agenda of all companies, including Berkshire Hathaway, Apple, Google, and Meta.
"I don't think it's necessary," he said. "These companies have huge amounts of cash sitting around, and this is eating away at shareholder value."
He analyzed Microsoft's enterprise value and said,
"98.5% of the value is dependent on quarterly performance, and only the remaining 1.5% comes from real assets," he said. "If half of a company's value comes from real assets like Bitcoin,
"Microsoft stock would become a much more stable and less risky asset," he added. The shareholder proposal is scheduled to go on the ballot on December 10.
