LS Electric and Samsung C&T partner to expand renewable energy business worldwide (Korea)

Electrical equipment manufacturer LS Electric and the construction division of Samsung C&T, a major trading company and construction company, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to jointly promote renewable energy business.
As a result, the two companies will establish a joint venture and begin by working on a 500-megawatt battery energy storage system (BESS) project that Samsung C&T is developing in the United States.
LS Electric will be in charge of the technology field, such as providing power solutions, while Samsung C&T will be in charge of development fields, such as obtaining licenses and permits.
LS Electric intends to increase its supply of energy storage system (ESS) wires in the U.S. in addition to Japan and Europe through collaboration with Samsung C&T.
Samsung C&T is now getting serious about expanding its rapidly growing solar power generation business in the U.S. Including this project, Samsung C&T's solar power generation and ESS development projects in the U.S. will reach 17.4 gigawatts.
In 2022, the company expanded into Australia, and in September 2024, it established a renewable energy company in Germany, and is actively expanding its eco-business.
Meanwhile, LS Electric has signed an MOU with Kyudenko, a Japanese electrical equipment company, and is expanding its business in the UK, including installing ESS at power plants.
