チ・チャンウク、「実は、アクションが好きではない。年のせいか息が切れる」
Ji Chang Wook: ”Actually, I don't like action movies. Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but I get out of breath.”
Actor Ji Chang Wook shared his thoughts on action. On the afternoon of the 27th, at a cafe in Jongno-gu, Seoul, he was at the Disney+ original "Gangnam B-Side" broadcast wrap party.
The interview for the final screening was held. Ji Chang Wook performed action scenes in most of the scenes in the drama. He said, "I thought a lot about how I could make the action scenes more exciting.
That said, my actions stem from my feelings for JaeHee, so I struggled with how to relate to those feelings."
Following "The Worst Evil" and "Revolver", he has been working on action films without taking a break, from "Gangnam B-Side" to "The Worst Evil".
Ji Chang Wook said, "Every time I do an action movie, I feel like I don't want to do it. It's hard. I like other things and I don't like action movies that much, so I do them.
"Whenever I watch it, there is always action," she said, drawing laughter. "Whether I like it or not, it's my job, so I have to do my best. Fortunately, it's impressive to many people when they watch it.
I think I was praised a lot for that. To be honest, I don't like action scenes that much. I think I was fine with it in 'Gangnam B-Side,' but when I was doing 'The Worst Evil,' I got so out of breath that I couldn't breathe.
I once sat down. I thought, "This is because of my age. I used to be able to do 100 more, but now I can only do this much." Even my seniors, even those older than me, do this.
When I see that, I feel relieved, thinking, "I think I can do it a little better, too." She also said, "I'm going to exercise every day off. When I was younger, I would drink alcohol and then the next day I'd have problems with exercise.
I used to exercise, but now my liver values are rising so much that I can't do it. I'm going to drink a little bit of alcohol and continue exercising whenever I have time. It's very difficult to do it suddenly, so
"I'm the type of person who tries to maintain that style," he added. Despite his dislike of action films, Ji Chang Wook's next work is the Disney+ original TV series "Sculpture City," which is also action-packed.
Ji Chang Wook laughed and said, "That's wrong." He continued, "'Sculpture City' is a series of films called 'Fabricated City,' so I couldn't help but feel moved when I heard about it.
I thought, "If it's not really interesting to watch, I'll have to stop," but the writing was really interesting. So I did it, but there was too much action and I was working hard. I had to make something good.
Ji Chang Wook, who has appeared in a series of Disney+ productions from "The Worst Evil" to "Gangnam B-Side" and "Sculpture City," is nicknamed "Disney's son."
In response, Ji Chang Wook said, "The only pressure I feel is that my work has to be better than my previous one. I also work for Disney and get paid for it.
There is pressure to make something good because they are a consumer group. OTT also has a number of subscribers, and viewing time is an indicator, so "it has to be good enough to be worth the money.
"I think the pressure of 'what's this all about?' has always been there, not just at Disney. It's said that the timing was really bad, but I'm very grateful that I was fortunate enough to be able to work on a project with Disney."
Meanwhile, Disney+'s "Gangnam B-Side" is about a detective and a prosecutor searching for JaeHee, a club ace who disappeared in Gangnam, and a mysterious broker who is trying to track down a case hidden behind Gangnam.
Episodes 7 and 8 of this TV series about three people who come together for different reasons to pursue a crime will be released this afternoon (27th).
