[Performance Report] Popular actor Lee Je Hoon holds fan meeting in Japan: ”When I'm tired or having a hard time, thinking about my fans fills me with energy”
Actor Lee Je Hoon, who has starred in hit TV series such as "Signal" and "Model Taxi" and has been praised for his high level of action in his latest film "Escape", will be appearing in the upcoming film "The Guardian".
This is his first visit to Japan in a year. On Saturday, November 23rd, he will be taking part in the 2024 LEE JEHOON FANMEETING in JAPAN "JEHOON's
Favorite" was held at the Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall in Tokyo. It was also held at the Matsushita IMP Hall in Osaka on the following day, the 24th.
At the Tokyo concert, about 1,000 fans gathered at the venue, clapping along to the opening movie as Lee Je Hoon appeared, and then he made a surprise appearance from the back of the audience.
The venue was filled with cheers. Fans were riveted by the sight of him marching through the audience singing "All Day" by Korean artist Geroge. At the end, he made a big heart shape over his head,
"I love you," he whispered in Japanese. "Hello. I'm Lee Je Hoon. I hope you've been well. I'm very happy to see you again after such a long time," he said, and the MC came up from the back of the audience.
When asked about her impressions of the event, she said, "I wanted to see my fans up close, and it felt really good to be able to appear on stage and see everyone's faces, feeling like 'it's been a while'.
"I'm happy," he said. Lee Je Hoon said that he stayed in Shizuoka for about two weeks this summer to film a TV series. "There are so many delicious things in Japan, so it was hard to resist. But
I changed my mindset to the idea that I should exercise as much as I ate, and walked around the city and went to a nearby fitness center. Japan is a safe country, and the city is clean, so walking is very comfortable.
"It's fun," he said, adding that his stay in Japan has also helped him to refresh himself. This time, the title of the Fan Meeting has been changed to "Fan Meeting" to make it an event packed with Lee Je Hoon's favorite things.
The apples on the table on the stage are also Lee Je Hoon's favorite food. "For over 30 years, I have eaten an apple every morning," he said.
I feel that Japanese apples are sweeter than Korean apples. The apples in the hotel were really sweet and delicious, so I'm thinking about taking some home with me. Hehe," he said shyly.
The way she smiles is so cute. From here, she answers questions from fans who had submitted questions in advance. The fan whose question was read out will receive a gift of an apple with a handwritten message.
He also received a nice bonus. When asked by a fan who came from Hokkaido, "Do you play any winter sports?", he replied with a wry smile, "You probably think of skiing and snowboarding, but I don't do those."
However, she has been to Hokkaido before, saying, "I went to Hokkaido with close friends seven years ago for Christmas when I was 20 years old. We saw the streets of Otaru and the sushi restaurant that appears in the famous manga.
I also went to the photo of a tree standing in a snowy field, so I went there and took a lot of photos. It was very beautiful. If I have the chance someday, I would like to take a photo of that tree.
"I also want to show you my muscles. I ate Genghis Khan," he said, talking passionately about how much he enjoyed his time in Hokkaido. He also readily responded to a fan's request to "show off your muscles," and showed off his cardigan.
When asked, "What good things have happened to you recently?" he replied, "When I went to England on holiday, I went to see a performance by my favorite singer, Adele.
She was singing right next to my seat, and I was so excited that I took a picture of her on my phone, but when I checked it later, it wasn't a good shot (lol). But I was so happy and excited.
"I was able to meet you," she answered. Next was a corner where romantic lines from TV series and movies were performed in Japanese. "We finally met," "Can I hold your hand?", "The moon is beautiful,"
"You're so beautiful," "I'll make you happy forever," and "Come here," she said in front of the fans, and even took photos of herself with them on her smartphone.
Lee Je Hoon, who is full of feelings for his fans, struggled with the word "happiness," but managed to master it and said, "This is exactly the word I want to convey to everyone," and recited, so that the whole venue could hear, "I will make you happy for the rest of your life."
The second part started with a song. The audience was enchanted by the soft rendition of "Love" by the Korean R&B group Brown Eyed Soul.
I'm not a good singer, but I'm grateful that everyone listens to my songs so hard," he said, thanking his fans. Next, Lee Je Hoon shared that what he likes to do is spend his free time happily.
He is such a big movie fan that he has even started his own YouTube channel, where he visits theaters across the country, including independent Korean movie theaters.
Due to the nature of my job, I can't update YouTube frequently, but I will upload videos slowly, so I hope everyone will be patient and wait."
Next, he looked back at photos he took in Japan and photos of him recording his YouTube narration, giving us a glimpse into Lee Je Hoon's daily life.
When asked if she would like to try radio work in the future because she thinks it is a wonderful job, she replied, "On radio, I can talk to listeners at a set time every day and listen to their problems, so I would like to try radio.
"I would like to try it if I have the opportunity in the future," he said, raising the expectations of his fans. In the "Favorite Mock Exam" corner, five multiple choice questions were asked, all of which were answered correctly.
They competed to see who could choose the same answer as Lee Je Hoon. In response to the question, "Which subject were you best at when you were young?", he chose "Math." He said, "English was my worst subject, but I liked math and science. My test scores were...
"I was good at math," he said, showing his side as a science guy. When asked, "When do you think you're the coolest?" he answered, "Everyday," drawing laughter from the audience.
"The answer I had in mind wasn't one of the options, so I chose it hoping that it would turn out that way," he said, revealing that he chose it with aspirations in mind.
"When I'm concentrating on acting or watching a good movie, time really flies by.
Right. I think the time that passes the fastest in this world is when I'm with you all. I hope that you all also feel happy spending time with me.
I hope to make time to meet you all again soon. Please stay healthy and avoid getting sick. I hope to continue to be an actor who brings comfort to everyone through my TV series and movies.
I want to continue to do my best. Thanks to all of you, I am able to perform. When I'm tired or in a difficult situation, I think of you and my energy surges. There's not much time left in 2024.
However, I hope everyone is happy and has a good time. Thank you very much," he said, conveying his passionate feelings to his fans and bringing the curtain down on his first fan meeting in Japan in about a year.
