Korea Fair Trade Commission begins sanctions against unregistered Chinese cross-border e-commerce company ”SHEIN”
The Korea Fair Trade Commission has begun imposing sanctions on SHEIN, a Chinese cross-border e-commerce company that has been operating in the country without registering as a mail-order business.
According to industry sources on the 2nd, the Korea Fair Trade Commission recently sent a review report to Seein, including a recommendation for sanctions for its violation of the Electronic Commerce Act.
Mail order businesses that operate cyber malls such as online shopping malls are required to provide their trade names, email addresses, and internet domains with the Electronic Commerce Law.
The name and server location proof must be reported to the local government, but the investigation revealed that Seein's headquarters had continued to operate within the country without making such reports.
In addition, the Fair Trade Commission has also sent an investigation report to other Chinese e-commerce companies, Alibaba's AliExpress and Tem, for their unregistered mail order business activities.
