South Korea gives suspended prison sentence for fight sparked by political disagreement

In South Korea, a woman in her 50s and a man in his 30s who got into a fistfight over a political disagreement were given suspended prison sentences by a court.
On the 4th, Judge Ha Jin-woo of the Seoul Central District Court announced the indictment of Park (58), who was indicted on charges of special injury.
The two men, including Jin (39), were sentenced to one year in prison and two years of probation. The incident occurred at around 4:40 pm on January 6th at a shabu-shabu restaurant in Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The two were having a conversation about politics when Park heard someone say something that differed from his own opinion, which made him angry. Park threw the metal chopsticks he was holding at Jin and then jumped on him.
In response, Jin splashed beer on Park after being hit with the metal chopsticks, then splashed beer on him from a mug.
He then fought back by throwing back a beer mug. As a result of the collision, Park was injured in the left temple and Jin suffered a bruise on his forehead that will require two weeks of treatment.
Judge Ha stated the reason for the sentence, "Park has not admitted his mistake, and Jin's guilt is not light given the nature of the crime.
People were not reconciled."
