LG Electronics teams up with Ambarella to develop in-car solutions (Korea)

LG Electronics is developing its Driver Monitoring System (DMS) using Ambarella's Edge AI Recognition SoC (SoC).
The solution integrates the system onto a single chip, resulting in efficient design and cost reduction.
LG Electronics' In-Cabin Sensing uses cameras and sensors to detect and analyze the inside of a vehicle, making it possible to prevent traffic accidents.
The S Solution uses a camera to detect and analyze the driver's gaze and head movements. This detects behaviors such as drowsy driving or talking on a smartphone while driving and sounds a warning.
"We are committed to contributing to safe driving through our major partner companies, including Ambarella," said Won Seok-hyun, head of the VS (Vehicle Component Solutions) Business Division at LG Electronics.
"We are working with the industry to advance automotive safety by setting new safety standards through in-cabin sensing."
