Q: What are the highlights of this film and what is the appeal of the role you played? A: This film is about a family protecting each other and not blaming each other when they make a wrong choice.
The story depicts the love of a family that accepts you and tells you that everything will be okay, and that's the highlight of the story. The charm of the character I played, Lee Sang-jun, is the difference between when he's an actor and when he's not.
I think so. When I'm working as an actor, I always act cool, but at home, as the eldest son, I care about my family, love my mother, and hate my sister... (laughs)
It's a role that makes me feel grateful to be able to work for my family.
How did you come to star in this film, and what were your impressions when you first read the script?
It all started when the director proactively sent me a love call.
I had played many scary characters up until now, so I wanted to try playing a gentler character. When I read the script, I felt it was different from the previous works depicting "family." I was fascinated by that difference.
I felt his power and decided to take the role. Q: Did you do any preparation or research beforehand to play the role of Lee Sang-jun? A: Nothing in particular! (laughs)
That’s because I am exactly the same. My character’s name is Lee Sang-jun, but I’m Lim Ju Hwan inside. (laughs)
Lee Sang-jun is the eldest son who pays off his father's debts and takes care of his family.
What do you think is Njun's driving force? A: My driving force is... just "family". I have to protect my family, I have to protect them as the eldest son and the man of the house.
Q: I was impressed by Sang-jun's devotion to his elementary school classmate Tae-ju...! What was it about Tae-ju that attracted Sang-jun?
A: Of course, I think it's because they're cute (laughs). Also, as the eldest son and daughter, I think there were some parts that I could sympathize with. I hope you'll watch the TV series again.
It may seem a little obvious, but when Tae-ju was young, he was bullied by the kids in his class. Seeing this, Sang-jun felt the need to protect him, and gradually began to fall in love with him.
Q: What was the atmosphere like on set? A: It was very good. First of all, the director was very cheerful and energetic, so that atmosphere spread to everyone.
Q: How was your chemistry with Lee HaNa, who played your co-star Kim Tae-ju? A: Lee HaNa and I are the same age. We were both born in 1982, and even in this film,
Since we were the same age, I was able to interact with him on set as if he were a real friend, and I was able to act in a relaxed manner.
Please tell us about your experiences with your co-stars, behind-the-scenes stories, and the funniest NG scenes.
Please let me know if you have any. A: Ah, NG! ... Rather than NG, it was more like a moment when I was able to let go of the burden on my shoulders. Up until now, I've played cool characters, scary villains, and other strict and cold characters.
But this time, there is a scene where I coordinate my outfits with my sister in the dressing room, and there was no storyboard for that scene.
I filmed the scene ad lib with Moon Yeowon. By the way, I lost 3kg that day because I was running around the dressing room and messing around.
I think so. Because instead of taking a single shot, we changed the camera position and took shots from various angles. However, it was all improvised, so I don't remember what I did.
(laughs) Because of that, we had to shoot it so many times and it was tiring, but it was the most fun and I think it was the most free scene I've ever played.
There is a love triangle between Tae-ju and Cha Yun-ho, the documentary director played by Lee Tae-seong. A: Yes. But I would like to see a story that is more about a love triangle.
I wanted the story to be portrayed as fierce. I even thought it would be fine if Tae-ju fell in love with Yunho and then returned to Sang-jun. But in the story,
He doesn't care about Yunho and isn't jealous at all... The scriptwriter said that he wanted to portray him that way. "Sangjun is devoted, and Taeju also likes Sangjun, but they are strait-laced.
"She rejects Sangjun because of her bad memories of him and Soo, and she doesn't like Yunho." But I think that in the TV series, the characters clash.
I thought it would be interesting, so I was hoping for something like that. Q As the title suggests, the three siblings are each in love, but in the TV series,
Which couple do you like best? A: Of course it's me and Taeju! I think our couple was the best. Q:
It seems that curry rice will be a key point in this work...! Ju-hwan is a Korean variety show "Apprentice CEO's
Q: In "Business Journal," you showed off your amazing cooking skills. Is there a dish you're best at? A: The dishes I made in "Business Journal" are the ones I'm best at, so I don't know much about the others.
No. It may have looked like I could cook a lot of different dishes through the show, but you're all being fooled by me (laughs).
I practiced hard at home to make that dish, and the sweet potato curry that appears in the film is also a Japanese dish.
I saw it in a movie. I happened to see a scene where they were making sweet potato curry. A woman was trying to buy sweet potatoes at a supermarket, but she was buying the same ones as a certain man.
They try to take the sweet potato and try to get it. The man then suggests that they each share the two sweet potatoes. He then asks the woman, "Are you making curry today? If so, why don't you add some sweet potatoes?
"Why not try making it with sweet potatoes? The sweetness of the sweet potatoes will improve the flavor of the curry." When I saw that, I thought it was a great idea.
When the owner asked me what was the most memorable curry, I answered "sweet potato curry" and that's how it was born. -Have you ever tried making sweet potato curry yourself?-
Yes. It was very popular! You can make curry by putting onions, meat, and solid curry roux in a rice cooker and cooking it. I tried adding sweet potatoes to it. Q
Is there a scene or line that was particularly memorable to you in this film? A The most memorable line was "I am Lee Sang-jun." Because of my personality, I don't think I would say things like "I am ____, I'm amazing, I'm cool."
I don't like saying things like, "I'm so cute," so it was difficult for me to say something so boastful in the story. Q: What do you think are the highlights of this film? A:
As they are a family, the three siblings sometimes clash, but when one of them makes a choice, they believe in that choice. Even if it doesn't go well, they understand.
I think it would be interesting if you pay attention to the "we're family so we can forgive each other" part. Most family TV series have a bit of comedy, fights, and reconciliation.
I do have some, but in this film I make some extreme choices. I think you'll understand if you watch it (laughs) Q: Are there any hobbies or holiday routines that you've been into lately?
You may wonder if this can be called a hobby, but I like watching movies and TV series at home.
If I think, "I want to see a certain actor," I watch all the movies he's in. When it comes to Japanese actors, I watch how actors of my generation, such as Go Ayano, Kentaro Sakaguchi, and Shun Oguri, act.
I'm curious about it. I've watched "The 13 Lords of the Kamakura" and the recent "What Will Ieyasu Do?", and I also watched "Japan Sinks: Hope's Man" starring Shun Oguri.
What Japanese movies or TV series have you seen recently? Are there any you like? The movie I saw recently was "Chihiro-san." What other movies has that actress starred in?
I searched for it and watched it. I watched the TV series "Kyoujou" starring Takuya Kimura, and it was interesting. Q How many times have you been to Japan?
I renewed my passport 2-3 years ago, and when I looked at my old passport, I noticed that there were 30-40 square stickers that were attached when I entered a foreign country.
About 0? Most of them were entry stickers to Japan. (laughs) Q: What is your most memorable memory from your visit to Japan? It was when we went to Kyushu. It was a family trip, and Oita
I also went to Yufuin in 2011. I stayed at an inn that was established over 100 years ago. It felt like a ninja was going to come down from the ceiling... (laughs) It was a few years ago, but I still remember it.
Q: Finally, please give a message to your Japanese fans. "Three Brave Siblings: Adults in Love" is a work that makes you feel the bond, communication, and love of family.
I think you'll enjoy it, so trust me and check it out! (laughs) ▼Work credits Licensed by KBS Media Ltd. ©
