South Korea's opposition Democratic Party calls President Yoon's speech ”an expression of extreme delusion... We call on the ruling party to support impeachment”

"The statement that we planned martial law, which will fail and violate the constitution and laws, to protect the constitutional government is an extreme delusion," Rep. Kim said in an emergency press conference at the National Assembly headquarters.
The report interpreted this as an admission of illegally invoking martial law, and that "he incited far-right unrest by reading out the summary of the Constitutional Court's arguments in advance with impeachment in mind."
Rep. Kim said, "I want the ruling party, the People Power Party, to decide to hold an impeachment vote immediately. The National Assembly must abide by the people's demands."
"I believe that the Constitutional Court will be able to minimize the time it takes for the country to return to normalcy by quickly making a decision on the impeachment of Yoon Seok-yeo," he said.
"Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to the people who are enduring this uncertainty on a daily basis, and I fervently hope that they will join forces," he said.
