Mayor Hong said on his Facebook page on the 12th, "Lee Jae-myung said, 'I will not accept Yoon Seok-yeol as president for even one day.'"
"We cannot accept this," Yoon Seok-yeol wrote, "In that case, are we going to welcome a criminal (Lee Jae-myung) as president?" Han Dong-hoon wrote, "Let's impeach and expel Yoon Seok-yeol and join the second company of the Democratic Party."
He added, "Aren't all three of them in an antagonistic symbiotic relationship? I want them all to disappear. It's a case of the city being incompetent." Prior to this, Mayor Hong said, "Even if the purpose is legitimate, if the means are not reasonable, then it is not appropriate.
"His policy cannot succeed," he said, indirectly criticizing President Yoon's declaration of martial law. However, he maintains his opposition to the impeachment motion against President Yoon.
However, he maintains his previous stance that it is wrong to condemn President Yoon for treason and that he should not be impeached.
President Yoon said in a speech to the nation on the same day regarding the state of emergency, "The opposition parties are dancing wildly, claiming that the declaration of state of emergency is an act of treason. I will fight alongside the people until the very last moment."
President Yoon said, "For the past two and a half years, the huge opposition party (the Democratic Party of Korea) has not acknowledged the president chosen by the people and has not stopped inciting his resignation and impeachment in an attempt to bring him down. He has not accepted the results of the presidential election.
He continued, "The opposition party has paralyzed national politics with its excessive impeachment bills. The opposition party is an anti-national force that has slashed the special expenses and special activity expenses of the prosecution and police to '0 won.'"
He also asked, "Where have the people who are performing this crazy sword dance been up until now and what have they been doing up until now?"
