「NewJeans」、ADORとの契約紛争続く中、年末歌謡祭はどうなる?
As NewJeans' contract dispute with ADOR continues, what will happen to the year-end music festival?
New Jeans, who are currently in a contract dispute with management office ADOR, are attracting attention as to whether they will mention the group's name this time.
"NewJeans" will be the theme song for the KBS2 "2024 Music Bank Global Festival" to be held in Japan on the 14th.
Starting with "Tival in Japan," they will appear on the three broadcasting companies' year-end music stages, ending with SBS's "SBSGayo Daejejeon" on the 25th and MBC's "Gayo Daejejeon" on the 31st.
"New Jeans" was a song performed at a J-pop singer YOASOBI concert held after ADOR filed a lawsuit to confirm the validity of the exclusive contract, with the group name omitted.
Currently, they are in a legal dispute with ADOR, and it seems that they were aware of the fact that the trademark rights to the group name NewJeans belong to ADOR.
During their introduction, the group introduced themselves only by their names, without mentioning the group name "New Jeans."
Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR and HYBE, who shook up the K-POP industry in April this year
In the midst of the conflict between the two groups, the members of "NewJeans" have recently publicly sided with Min Hee Jin. Will they be able to mention the group's name on the remaining stages? What will their future plans be?
The five members, Minzy, HYERI, HANI, Daniel, and Haein, held an emergency press conference on the 29th of last month to announce that they would be terminating their exclusive contract with ADOR.
The contract was terminated because ADOR had breached its obligations under the exclusive contract and had failed to take action within the required period to remedy the breach.
Above all, since their contract was terminated, they are now under a separate exclusive contract.
ADOR claimed that the application for a temporary injunction did not proceed and that it was not obligated to pay any penalty, and ultimately filed a lawsuit in court to confirm the validity of the Exclusive Contract.
However, ADOR's manager, who helps with the schedule for NewJeans, claims that the company has bullied her, including by confining her.
ADOR has responded by arguing that NewJeans had excluded the company and encouraged it to enter into a direct contract with the brand, sparking controversy.
