National Assembly Speaker Woo Sik: ”We must activate the National Stability Consultative Body”... Acting President Han Deok-soo: ”I look forward to cooperation between the ruling and opposition parties and the government” (South Korea)

On the 15th, National Assembly Speaker Woo Won-sik emphasized, "It is important to establish a national stability consultative body between the National Assembly and the government and get it up and running as soon as possible."
During a meeting with Prime Minister and Acting President Han Deok-soo, who visited the National Assembly that day, Woo said,
"In the midst of a political upheaval such as impeachment, conflicts will inevitably arise, but at such times the government and the ruling and opposition parties must work together to bring stability to the people," he said.
Furthermore, during a press conference held that morning, Lee Jae-myung, chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, called for the government to cooperate with the ``National Political Stability Consultative Body'' he proposed.
Chairman Woo also said, "From now on, the most important thing is to bring the situation under control and stabilize national affairs. The government must adhere to the principle that 'the people are at the center of national affairs.'"
"We must firmly establish this fundamental principle," he said. In response, Acting Prime Minister Han said, "All decisions and actions made by the government must be in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
"I will base all my decisions on the Constitution, the law, and the future of the nation," he said. "I believe that the swift resolution of the current situation and stable national administration are the final tasks of my long career in public service, and I will do my utmost to achieve this.
"The most important thing is to ensure that the nation's security and the people's daily lives are maintained without the slightest disturbance," he said.
"I hope that this will happen. The government will first ask for cooperation," he added.
